The Tree Of Light is a regional large-scale community event celebrating London 2012. The Thames Arts consortium (Windsor Festival, Henley Festival, Ciao and Oxford Inspires) will be delivering a series of spectacular events in the Thames Valley in June/July next year involving 1200 community performers from around the South East region.
Stewart Collins (Henley Festival Director) is the project’s overall Artistic Director and Charlie Morrissey is The Tree Of Light Lead Choreographer.
Thames Arts would like to recruit 10 choreographers to work with the 40 recruited groups involved in the project.
The largest award for performance in the UK aims to involve local people and produce uncompromisingly high artistic standards. More from the BBC here.

Dance Umbrella 2011 Commission – Rosemary Lee, Square Dances
Square Dances, commissioned by Dance Umbrella, will take place in four central London squares performed six times a day on October 8th and 9th. A Company Stage Manager experienced at working with large groups of people from varied backgrounds is required to manage the day-to-day running of the dance company for this major outdoor participatory project including studio and outdoor rehearsal and supervising the project’s stage management team.
